OnlyFans Starter Checklist: 20 Things Before Your First Post
Half of all first-month problems come from skipped prep: privacy "later", content "as we go", prices "by eye". Run through this list before launch — afterwards, every item costs more.
Basics and documents
- You're 18 or older (the check is live, it can't be fooled);
- An ID for verification — passport or national ID;
- Somewhere to receive money: an account or card — payout methods;
- A grasp of your country's taxes — the short primer;
- A separate email and phone number for work accounts.
Privacy (before the first post!)
- Geo-block your own country — instructions;
- The decision: face / no face / persona — how to build the character;
- Work socials with zero ties to personal ones (contacts, handles, photos);
- A clean background in frame: no documents, addresses or recognizable places;
- A leak response plan — read in advance.
Gear and content
- A phone with a good camera + a tripod;
- Light: a ring light or softbox for $30–100 — the shooting guide;
- A starting library: 15–20 pieces of content BEFORE launch;
- 3–5 "wow" pieces for your first PPVs;
- A month of ideas ahead (batches work best).
Packaging and plan
- Handle, banner, bio with an offer — the profile checklist;
- A subscription price set by strategy, not by eye;
- A welcome message for new fans (it sells the first PPV);
- 1–2 traffic channels chosen for your niche;
- A month-long calendar: shoots, posts, campaigns — the 30-day plan.
FAQ
How long does the whole prep take?
A week at a calm pace: 2–3 days of admin plus verification, 1–2 shooting days, a day for packaging.
What gets skipped most often?
Items 6–8. Privacy takes 10 minutes to switch on — but only BEFORE your content has spread across the internet.
